Silk Scarves Made in Scotland

Strawberries and Cream is inspired by British summer days watching Wimbledon. I wanted to create a design that exuberates classic British culture with a contemporary twist. Using a classic symbol of the rose, I enhanced the petals dark crimson shadows, and highlights of soft pink and peach. The compliment background colour of fresh cream is reminiscent of classic British design and enhances the vibrancy of the petals.
Inspired by Shibori dye techniques and contemporary geometric shapes, this design has a real depth of colour. The original artwork was created by layering shades of blue and tints of red on paper, with subtle geometric shapes in the print. The artwork was then digitally cut and paste into geometric shapes, to create a 3D experience on the fabric.

Bright vivid and fun colour combinations make this scarf a real statement piece. The original print was inspired by traditional African prints. The geometric tile pattern gives the design a classic contemporary feel which will not age in your wardrobe.

Inspirational words Victorian and Tropical were the starting point for this design. The feather pattern was created originally from an etched print. The yellow gold was inspired by tropical birds, and the uniform pattern was taken from Victorian wallpaper patterns. To accentuate the luxury and vintage feel I incorporated a silver grey into the scarf design.
The tropical plants of Edinburgh Botanical gardens inspired this design. The layering and repeats are reflective of the shadows created in the gardens, by the tropical plants in the glass houses. I chose a soft grey and peach colours for a fresh light feel that can be worn all year round.
